Where Does All The Time Go?

I can not believe how fast time is passing. So what am I doing with all my time..Here is what is taking all my time in no particular order.

Bees-

My bees are here. I am having a good time watching and learning about them. It is fun to 'suit' up and go and check on them. It is really fascinating. I still have no clue what I am doing. I just have to remind myself that I had no clue what I was doing the day I brought Taylor home from the hospital and I some how figured it out. The three older ones are really interested in the bees too. They want me to buy them each a suit so they can get a closer look. Michael is only interested in the honey.

School-

Our 6th year of home schooling is coming to an end. I think I am more anxious when the school year ends than when it begins. I can not believe how fast the school year goes by. Then I think about all the things we covered. Wow it is a lot of information. On the school topic, getting ready for High School is another challenge. Getting up next year for Seminary will be the biggest challenge of all..Okay maybe not the getting up but the staying up will be ;-)

Garden-

The garden is already out of control. We have yellow squash and zucchini coming out our ears. The oven is full of zucchini bread as I type. I found some fun recipes that I can not wait to try. I had lettuce from the garden for lunch. It was better than I thought it would be. I wrapped a beet from the garden and placed it on the BBQ tonight while I cooked chicken. It was REALLY good. I have never grown beets before...let alone eaten them. I was very surprised. I have corn that needs to go in the ground. It is under the grow light and is adding about 1 inch a day.

I was given the opportunity last weekend to pick cherries. The boys and I had a great time. We filled the dehydrator. I also canned the remaining juice for Sunday dinners. My kids love juice mixed with Lemon lime soda. Homemade sparkling juice. Michael made some cherry syrup for pancakes too.

The blueberries are doing very well in their new full sun location. I am so glad we planted them. They are prolific and delicious. Aimee loves to go pick them and share them with her daddy.

My newest variety of black berries with the killer thorns have redeemed themselves. They are already producing and they are big, yummy berries All the other berries are still green. I guess I won't take the Round-up to them after all.

Outside work.

I am finally finding time to work on the fence. This week I have been painting the horizontal boards. I am hopeful that by the end of Memorial Weekend I will have most of them up. Michael has built me some really nice gates out of scrap wood. He is becoming quite the wood worker.

Times up, and the bread just came out of the oven. More to come. Hopefully with pictures of some finished projects.

I'm so jealous that you have so much fresh produce. I love beets, especially in salad. The bees look very cool. Let me know when you need to get rid of some honey!
