The kids and I took a tour of the local newspaper. It was interesting for the adults, but the kids were bored to tears.

So to spice it up a bit we bought some coconuts at the store and tried coconut milk and raw coconut. We actually tried a brown one and a white one. The kids were good sports about it, but I don't think they will be begging to buy coconut anytime soon.

Spring means the grass is growing and fast. Isaac is the official lawn mowing helping.

We have a lot of lawn. The riding lawnmower is now beyond repair. Someday I will get another one, but until then...they will have stories to tell their kids ;-0

I have fallen behind on some of the projects on my to do list. This the 1st one. I am two years and 4 kids behind on baby quilts for my nieces and nephews. So my sister-in-law sent me a picture of what she wanted, and this is what I made. It was so fun to do. I forget how much I love to sew. Just don't come look at my house right now. I am not good at multi tasking when the sewing machine is up

Aimee was sad that all the cute fabric was going to her cousin, so I used some of the extra fabric to make her this apron. She was so happy

Andrew caught me at a weak moment again. He just knows how to melt me. He talked me into a few more chicks. We agreed on three, then he upped it to four, because one usually does not make it. When we got to Tractor Supply to get the chick you had to buy a minimum of 6. So we are the proud owners of 6 new chicks. I admit, I am such a sucker.

This is another project that has been on my to do list. I wanted to do it last year but I did not get around to it. With some instruction from my dad, I built my 1st beehive from plans. I so enjoyed working with my dad. Andrew was nice enough to paint it for me.
This is called a Warre hive. They were developed in Europe. They are different then what you see in the orchards, but they work. I am super excited to use it. I get to pick up my new bees in April.

so cool! I love the Spring. I need to call you when my hands are not covered in paint! Until then, I'm glad everything seems to be going well. Love the Beehive
Shirley, I didn't know you were a beekeeper. That is awesome...looks like you have been one busy girl!
